Role Overview

The Logistics Analyst is responsible for transforming logistics and transportation data into actionable business insights. This position supports executive reporting, carrier management, vendor performance measurement, transportation optimization, and cost-saving initiatives through data analysis and reporting.

The successful candidate will be highly analytical, possess advanced Excel and BI tool capabilities, and have the ability to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities within large logistics datasets.

The role will also require strong communication and collaboration with key business partners and cross-functional teams, including Sales, Planning, Production, Finance, and other internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Reporting & Analytics

  • Consolidate and analyze logistics data from ERP systems, transportation providers, warehouses, and internal stakeholders.
  • Build recurring KPI dashboards and executive scorecards.
  • Develop transportation, carrier, vendor, and lane performance reporting.
  • Perform root-cause analysis on operational exceptions.
  • Create ad hoc analyses supporting strategic decisions.

Transportation Analytics

  • Analyze:
  • Freight spend
  • Transit times
  • Carrier performance
  • Vendor performance
  • Mode optimization
  • Drayage and transload costs
  • Measure on-time delivery performance and identify service failures.
  • Develop lane and provider scorecards.

Data Quality & Governance

  • Validate shipment data accuracy across systems.
  • Reconcile discrepancies between provider and ERP data.
  • Maintain reporting standards and data integrity.
  • Audit operational reports and identify missing or inconsistent information.

Business Intelligence

  • Build dashboards using:
  • Excel
  • Power BI
  • Tableau (preferred)
  • Automate manual reporting processes.
  • Create executive-ready visualizations for leadership reviews.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify process improvement opportunities through data analysis.
  • Support logistics cost reduction initiatives.
  • Assist with implementation of transportation and supply chain technologies.
  • Support quarterly business reviews with logistics providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Analytics, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of logistics, transportation, or supply chain analytics experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills:
  • Pivot Tables
  • Power Query
  • XLOOKUP
  • Data Modeling
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate findings to both operational teams and leadership.

Preferred

  • Power BI experience.
  • Tableau experience.
  • SQL knowledge.
  • Experience with freight, transportation, or supply chain datasets.
  • Exposure to Infor Nexus, SAP, OMS, or transportation management systems.

This is a hybrid role, with 4 days in our Secaucus, NJ office.

PAY RATE: $80,000/yr-$90,000/yr
