ExxonMobil in Singapore

ExxonMobil is one of Singapore’s largest foreign manufacturing investors with over S$25 billion in fixed asset investments.

Primary Role

  • The Logistics Advisor is responsible for managing logistics operations and third-party service providers (3PLs) to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement, storage, and distribution of products. The role oversees transportation and warehousing activities, drives operational excellence, manages logistics service contracts, and partners with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high service levels while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and company requirements.
  • This position plays a key role in supporting business growth through effective logistics planning, supplier stewardship, continuous improvement initiatives, and cost optimization across the supply chain network.

Position Responsibilities

Logistics Operations Management

  • Manage and oversee logistics activities across transportation, warehousing, inventory handling, storage, and distribution operations.
  • Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to ensure reliable and efficient execution of services.
  • Monitor and improve on-time delivery, service quality, operational efficiency, and cost performance.
  • Provide logistics expertise and support to cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
  • Support future business growth by ensuring logistics capacity and capabilities are aligned with business needs.

Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Stewardship

  • Act as the primary interface between the company and logistics service providers.
  • Monitor service provider performance through defined KPIs, service level agreements, and operational reviews.
  • Lead regular performance stewardship meetings and ensure timely closure of identified gaps and corrective actions.
  • Conduct safety, quality, and operational audits to ensure compliance with company standards and contractual requirements.
  • Review and validate logistics service charges, accessorial costs, and related service claims.

Cost Management and Financial Stewardship

  • Manage and monitor logistics operating costs and budgets within assigned scope.
  • Analyze logistics cost trends and identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure accurate invoice processing, accruals, and timely payments for logistics services.
  • Support cost forecasting and budgeting activities.

Contracting and Supplier Management

  • Support logistics sourcing and contracting activities, including scope development, supplier evaluation, technical assessments, and contract renewals.
  • Partner with Procurement to ensure services are delivered in accordance with contractual agreements.
  • Monitor supplier compliance and performance against contractual obligations.
  • Support management of change and post-contract implementation activities.

Safety, Quality, and Compliance

  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, operational, and company requirements.
  • Drive closure of safety incidents, audit findings, customer complaints, and corrective actions.
  • Support risk management and continuous improvement of logistics processes and controls.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify, prioritize, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across logistics operations.
  • Analyze operational data and performance metrics to improve service, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and service providers on process optimization and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Support implementation of best practices across warehousing and transportation operations.

Systems and Data Management

  • Utilize logistics and ERP systems to monitor operations, analyze performance, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Interpret operational data and reporting tools to support decision-making and problem-solving.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, supply chain operations related to Polymers and Packaged products is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle escalations and manage exceptions effectively.
  • Experience in driving process improvements, cost efficiency, and service quality through innovative strategies and solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environment.
