Job Profile Summary

The Logistics and Transportation Specialist SGMM is responsible for collaborating with various units across Singapore & Emerging Market and Malaysia organization to optimize cost, service, and quality across the supply chain, contributing to small projects for cost savings or process improvements. The role manages a small team to achieve project objectives aligned with business goals and assist in developing business cases for technology investments to enhance efficiency. The role oversees the overall system parameters within transportation systems and assesses transportation network performance to ensure optimal functionality. The role ensures smooth handling of the execution of warehousing contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with defined process, regulations, terms and conditions while proactively identifying opportunities for cost savings and service enhancements.

Job Responsibilities

• Facilitates and collaborates with various units across the organization to optimize cost, service, and quality across the supply chain, contributing to small projects for cost savings or process improvements.
• Own the transportation and warehousing operations in her/his scope, securing inbound and outbound transportation are executed efficiently with focus on highest quality and patient safety, end-to-end optimization and in full compliance with processes defined and with quality, regulatory, sustainability, legal and trade compliance obligations.
• Manage 3PL in executes warehouse processes related to storage (stock counts, stock verification, stock movements, stock corrections, value added operations on inventory) with focus on highest level of quality and with patient safety in mind and in full compliance with obligations in scope of the operations (bonded storage, special storage areas, environmental control on products, finance controls applicable for the entity), updates the inventory accordingly in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP tool.
• Investigates discrepancies or issues related to inbound and outbound activities, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to resolve them, working under limited supervision.
• Ensures seamless synchronization of stock between SAP and Warehouse Management System (WMS) through regular audits and reconciliations, meticulously verifying inventory levels to maintain alignment and accuracy, safeguarding against discrepancies and optimizing inventory management processes
• Ensures the quality assurance of transactional data throughout the entirety of his/her operational activities, maintaining a stringent adherence to established protocols and standards to guarantee accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all created and updated records.
• Leads small transport projects, managing a small number of people to achieve project objectives and deliver results aligned with business goals, assists in the development of business cases for technology investments to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Calculates transport capacity and design transportation schedules on a long-term basis, based on data analysis and demand forecasting, identifies areas for improvement and implements corrective actions.
• Sets up and maintains overall system parameters within transportation systems, assesses transportation network performance through established metrics and management reports, ensuring optimal functionality and performance.
• Oversees the invoicing process and cost control of service providers, negotiates commercial tariffs with service providers for incidental situations, ensuring favorable terms and cost-effective solutions.
• Draws up and maintains the transportation plan for finished products within a timeframe, adjusts the transportation plan based on real-time demand fluctuations keeping in consideration the customer demand and promised delivery dates.
• Guides and mentors the team, actively contributing to employee selection, performance management, compensation management, career development, and overseeing operational processes.
• Stays updated with technology developments and trends and provides oversight for international transportation activities, ensuring proper shipping documentation, and effective management of worldwide transportation services.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management OR Vocational Education in Warehousing and Logistics or equivalent.

Work Experience

Minimum 1 year of experience with Bachelor's OR minimum 4 years of experience with Vocational Education in areas such as Supply Chain, Transport, Logistics, Operations, Physical Distribution or equivalent

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
