Job Description
The Logistic Manager oversees the plant's entire logistics process, coordinating their team and ensuring that all inbound, outbound, and internal flows are managed according to the guidelines set by the Head of Supply Chain, with the goal of maintaining the highest level of service to the end customer.
The role also ensures ongoing monitoring and follow-up of relationships with external partners across the supply chain and with other internal functions.
Strategic Objective Ensure efficient internal logistics flows (goods receiving, storage, line feeding) and strategic and operational planning of outbound transport. The role guarantees that finished products are delivered to customers (construction sites, distributors, general contractors, manufacturers, etc.) on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety regulations.

Main Responsibilities
A. Transport Management and Outbound Logistics
- Define guidelines and policies for load-unit and load-plan optimization, monitoring vehicle saturation (operationally managed by the Transportation Planner)
- Oversee route and vehicle planning (trucks, exceptional or dedicated transport) needed to complete finished product deliveries, coordinating outbound flows to construction sites, distributor hubs, and end customers
- Validate shipment planning from a load-maximization and cost-optimization perspective, ensuring full budget compliance
- Oversee shipment status and manage transport issues as they arise, supporting the team in coordinating with site managers and general contractors to ensure deliveries are unloaded on schedule
- Define operational requirements and SLAs for carriers; work closely with Indirect Purchasing on technical evaluation, scouting, and validation of transport contracts (commercial negotiation remains with Purchasing)
- Support the sales team by supervising estimates on volumes, dimensions, and packaging/transport costs for new quotes or tenders under evaluation
B. Warehouse Management and In-house Logistics
- Ensure internal logistics processes and warehouse flows are followed, coordinating raw material receiving (steel coils, polyurethane, rock wool), storage, and delivery to production departments in line with production schedules
- Analyze warehouse layout and propose organizational and technological improvements to optimize storage space and material handling
- Oversee periodic inventory activities and manage stock levels, monitoring inventory to prevent material obsolescence or stockouts
- Develop and maintain technical packaging specifications by category, working with Purchasing to incorporate them into supply contracts and with the Head of Technical Services to ensure compliance with production specifications
C. Performance Analysis, Reporting and Digitalization
- Continuously monitor key logistics KPIs, including delivery punctuality, transport costs as a share of revenue, stock turnover, and inventory levels
- Prepare periodic reports for company management, highlighting budget variances and proposing corrective actions for continuous improvement
- Act as Supply Chain Project Owner for digitalization, modernization, and technology projects across warehouses and transport (software and hardware — e.g. ERP evolution, WMS/TMS modules, forklifts, shelving systems)
- Oversee correct issuance of transport documentation (delivery notes, CMR for international shipments, special permits) in compliance with customs and tax regulations and applicable Incoterms, ensuring a complete, traceable archive (e.g. proof of delivery) and consistent data transmission to the company's information system
D. Team Management and Safety
- Manage, coordinate, and evaluate warehouse staff (forklift operators, loading staff, logistics clerks), ensuring proper training, professional growth, and operational continuity
- Ensure company procedures for operational and load safety are defined and followed in full compliance with current regulations and company directives
- Ensure proper application of safety procedures within the warehouse and strict use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by both the team and external carriers during loading/unloading
Requirements
Technical Skills
- Previous logistics management experience in manufacturing plants (preferably construction materials, building, or heavy metal fabrication)
- Experience with road/intermodal transport dynamics (FTL, groupage, exceptional transport)
- Strong analytical skills in logistics KPIs and cost/budget management
- Experience with ERP systems (Warehouse Management module) and transport planning software
- Independent, accurate, precise, consistent, and reliable working approach
- Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus
- Good command of English, Italian fluent
