Job Summary

The purpose of this role is to ensure the safe operation of the Bandit chipper and support equipment in the log yard to maintain short fiber needs of the sawdust yard.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Receive & inventory incoming logs & chips, accurately accounting for receipt & use by species & type.
• Coordinate with the Production Supervisor to plan chipping of fibers needed for upcoming production.
• Ensure safe & productive activities of Chipper.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor with large projects as needed.

• Utilization of F.I.F.O.
• Follow all facility safety rules & regulations.
• Daily equipment inspections & log.
• Preventative maintenance & log.
• Maintain inventory of knives & other consumables needed in the area.
• Housekeeping of equipment/work area.

Qualification Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of forklift experience.

1 - 2 years of heavy equipment operation, such as a Front Loader.

High School diploma or equivalent.

Moderate skill set with Microsoft Office products.

Experience with inventory and receiving is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Physical Requirements

Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, below freezing (32 degrees) and above 100 degrees.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.

Must be able to work in a dusty environment.
