Coldstream, British Columbia

We are looking for a Log Yard Supervisor to join our Lavington Division located in Coldstream, British Columbia Our Lavington Division is where Tolko’s story began over 60 years ago. Today, at Lavington, we safely and sustainably produce 238 million board feet of lumber per year for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • A strong commitment to safety, quality, lumber recovery, and production efficiency.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a lumber manufacturing environment.
  • Post-secondary education in forestry, sawmill business or industrial wood processing is considered an asset.
  • A proven track record in leadership and safety performance
  • Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Superior computer skills.

In this role, you will:

  • Live the Tolko values with an emphasis on safety, respect, progressiveness, integrity, open communication and profit.
  • Develop and empower your team to deliver results.
  • Coordinates work and equipment schedules within the log yard and mobile equipment to achieve planned production targets.
  • Be responsible for yard inventory management and ensuring the safety of the contract log haulers on site.
  • Be accountable for the safe operation and support the maintenance of all divisional mobile equipment
  • Promote a culture of safety by ensuring work is performed in accordance with company policies and procedures and that risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Build strong relationships and maintain effective communication.
