Job Description

Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Lodgekeeper for the Postcard Cabin Shenandoah North in Basye, VA

Job Purpose:

The Lodgekeeper’s responsibilities include cleaning and folding linens and other textile articles. You should also be able to communicate with guests via phone and messages.

To be successful as a Lodgekeeper, you should demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Lodgekeeper Responsibilities:

  • Sorting, washing, drying, and folding linens and other textile items.
  • Removing stains from items using the appropriate procedures
  • Keeping an updated inventory of laundry detergents.
  • Prepare for the following day’s shift by packing linen bags, preparing welcome materials, re-stocking cleaning kits, and performing maintenance on cleaning equipment
  • Tracking maintenance and repairs on laundering equipment.
  • Ensuring that the facility remains clean at all times.
  • Anticipating and responding to customers' queries, requests, and concerns.
  • Perform some front desk tasks such as answering phones and messages and checking in guests.

Lodgekeeper Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is preferable.
  • Familiarity with cleaning detergents and laundering equipment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Capacity to lift up to 20 pounds unaided.
  • Basic arithmetic skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Personable disposition with a knack for customer service.
  • Available to work shifts and on weekends.
  • Comfortable and confident working independently
  • Intermediate computer skills preferred

Other:

  • Being passionate about people and service.
  • Strong communication skills are essential when interacting with guests and employees.
  • Reading abilities are used often when completing paperwork, logging issues/complaints/requests/ information updates, etc.
  • Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, and training abilities are often used.
  • Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays
