Job Description

Lodge / AV Coordinator 2027

About the Role

The Lodge is a multipurpose centre which provides practice rooms, design and fine arts workrooms and small performance spaces in a large and attractive garden setting, which can also be used for performance and workshops on Ormond grounds. Aimed at further enriching the music and creative arts experience and opportunities for students, the Lodge is a vibrant hub for existing activities in music as well as performing arts and design. The two advertised positions will play an integral role in designing, coordinating and delivering events and performances that showcase the creativity of students who use the Lodge — often including setting up and managing audiovisual (AV) equipment — as well as ensuring the Lodge is maintained as a functional and welcoming facility for staff and student use. The Coordinators will also be responsible for promoting upcoming events and programs, and for effectively communicating relevant information to the student body.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event and AV support: setting up, operating and managing AV equipment for events that showcase music and the arts, including supporting the selection and coordination of musicians to perform at Formal Hall
  • Student music and ensembles: working closely with the Student Club to support the development and coordination of student music ensembles and other performance opportunities
  • Lodge management: helping ensure the Lodge is kept clean, tidy and well maintained as a welcoming and functional space for students, staff, rehearsals and events
  • Event promotion: supporting communication and promotion of upcoming music, arts and Lodge-based events to the student body
  • Providing administrative and logistical support to the Dean of Wellbeing and Inclusion / Senior Lodge Coordinator for matters relating to the Lodge
  • Helping update the inventory of Lodge equipment in February, June and November, including identifying the state of repair for equipment
  • Other duties as directed by Leadership

Eligibility

Applicants must be 18 years or older and 2nd or 3rd year Ormond residential student in 2027.

Successful applicants will also need to hold or obtain a Working with Children Check (Employee) and complete a GBV declaration if successful.
