Location: West London

Duration: Ongoing

Hourly Rate: £20 - £22

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Job Overview

Pulse is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Band 5 Pharmacy Technician (MMT/ACPT) to join a pharmacy team in West London. This ward-based role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment, supporting the delivery of high-quality medicines management services and ensuring safe and effective patient care.

The successful candidate will play a key role in medicines optimisation, medicines reconciliation, and accuracy checking activities, working closely with pharmacists, nursing teams, and other healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centred pharmaceutical care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide ward-based medicines management services to support patient care.
  • Undertake medicines reconciliation and obtain accurate medication histories.
  • Perform Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) duties in accordance with local policies and procedures.
  • Support the safe and effective supply of medicines across the ward.
  • Identify and resolve medicines-related issues in collaboration with the pharmacy and clinical teams.
  • Promote medicines optimisation and contribute to improved patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with professional and regulatory standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Hold Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) status.
  • Have Medicines Management Technician (MMT) experience.
  • Possess previous NHS hospital experience, ideally within a ward-based setting.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of medicines management and pharmacy procedures.
  • Be confident working within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Have excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
