Job Description

Riot Games was established in 2006 by entrepreneurial gamers who believe that player-focused game development can result in great games. In 2009, Riot released its debut title League of Legends to critical and player acclaim. As the most played video game in the world, over 100 million play every month. Players form the foundation of our community and it’s for them that we continue to evolve and improve the League of Legends experience.

We’re looking for humble but ambitious, razor-sharp professionals who can teach us a thing or two. We promise to return the favor. Like us, you take play seriously; you’re passionate about games. We embrace those who see things differently, aren’t afraid to experiment, and who have a healthy disregard for constraints.

That's where you come in.

As a Localization Operations Manager at Riot Games, you are responsible for embedding global readiness into the operational lifecycle of Riot’s products and experiences. Reporting to the Manager of Localization Operations, you operate at the intersection of Production, Development, Publishing, and Localization, ensuring that global delivery is scalable, predictable, and aligned with player expectations.

You lead localization operations across a portfolio of products, shaping workflows from planning through release. You balance executional excellence with strategic foresight, driving alignment across regions and stakeholders while evolving systems and processes to support global scale.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Production, Development, and Publishing to integrate localization requirements into planning, scope, and timelines
  • Oversee localization workflows from source readiness through delivery, ensuring high-quality and on-time outcomes
  • Monitor execution health, resolve blockers, and maintain operational predictability across teams
  • Develop and improve workflows, runbooks, and systems to enable scalable localization operations
  • Leverage localization management systems, automation, and AI-enabled solutions to improve efficiency and visibility
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships and drive alignment across regional and global stakeholders
  • Act as a primary point of contact for localization operations within the region
  • Identify risks across localization, compliance, and publishing workflows, and drive mitigation strategies
  • Use data to improve quality, reduce friction, and scale operations effectively

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in localization operations, production, or program management in gaming, tech, or entertainment
  • Experience supporting complex global launches and distributed teams
  • Strong understanding of localization pipelines, internationalization, and QA processes
  • Experience with localization management systems, CMS platforms, and project management tools (e.g., Jira or similar)
  • Proven stakeholder management skills and ability to influence without authority
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex workflows
  • Professional proficiency in English and Mandarin

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience scaling global operational systems or programs
  • Familiarity with automation or AI-enabled localization workflows
  • Experience in change management or operational transformation
  • Understanding of regional compliance and publishing requirements in China

For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes the delight of players. We will be looking at your past studies, experience, and your personal relationship with games. If you embody player empathy and care about players' experiences, this could be your role!
