Role: Localisation Project Manager

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

About the role:

As Localisation Project Manager, you own the end-to-end delivery of localisation projects across assigned markets and categories. You act as the central point of contact between client stakeholders and linguists, ensuring seamless execution, proactive communication, and consistent quality. You safeguard timelines, budgets, and brand tone of voice while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. You will work with the global PM team, based in the Netherlands, as well as translators and transcreators around the world.

What you will be doing:

  • Act as the primary client-facing contact for localisation projects, ensuring clear, structured, and proactive communication at all times.
  • Manage projects end-to-end: briefing, resource allocation, timeline planning, tracking, quality control, partial financial oversight (when necessary), and final delivery.
  • Own assigned categories with full accountability for timing, budget, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Translate marketing objectives into clear, actionable briefs for transcreators and translators.
  • Monitor project performance through data analysis (volume tracking, turnaround times, cost control, quality metrics) and provide structured reporting.
  • Work confidently with Excel to manage datasets, monitor KPIs, and identify risks or inefficiencies.
  • Use CAT tools and localisation platforms effectively to ensure consistency, terminology alignment, and process optimisation.
  • Anticipate risks and escalate issues early with clear mitigation plans.
  • Protect brand tone of voice and creative integrity across all markets.
  • Drive best practices within the localisation team, improving workflows and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with Global Category stakeholders, PM Team, and Language Delivery Lead.

What you need to be great in this role:

  • Highly organised and thrive in complex environments.
  • Communicate with clarity, structure, and confidence, especially with clients senior stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working with data.
  • Take ownership and solve problems before they escalate.
  • Balance operational rigour with sensitivity to language and brand nuance.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in project management or a similar language-focused PM role.
  • Proven experience managing client relationships and stakeholder expectations in a professional environment.
  • Strong project management fundamentals: planning, budgeting, risk management, and prioritisation.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis, tracking dashboards).
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Hands-on experience with CAT tools and localisation management platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control discipline.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams under tight deadlines.
  • Marketing or campaign handling experience is highly desirable.
  • Multilingual background and international exposure are a plus.
  • Knowledge of an additional language is considered an advantage, particularly Korean.
  • Passion for and inquisitive about AI and new technologies
  • Understanding and knowledge of AI tools is beneficial, but ability to learn and digest benefits and features of AI tools is critical
