Job Description

Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for plants and people? Ambius, a proud part of the Rentokil Initial family, is looking for a Local Service Team Leader to lead our Auckland plant care team.

This is the perfect role for an emerging leader who is ready to move beyond the tools and into a role focused on coaching, quality, and operational excellence. You’ll be right in the thick of it, ensuring Auckland’s workspaces stay green, vibrant, and healthy.

The Role: Leading from the Front

This isn't a "sit behind a desk all day" kind of job. You’ll be the backbone of our Auckland service operations, supporting a dedicated team of Interior Plantscape Technicians. Your mission is to ensure every plant looks its best and every customer is delighted.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading a team of ~10 field technicians, providing day-to-day guidance and support
  • Getting out into the field to mentor your team, boosting their plant-care expertise, confidence and service skills
  • Monitoring service quality and stepping in to resolve issues when needed
  • Working closely with customers to ensure consistent, reliable service delivery
  • Building strong relationships with our clients to ensure their indoor environments are thriving.
  • Supporting scheduling, resource planning, and operational coordination
  • Ensuring health & safety standards are followed across all sites
  • Assisting with reporting and contributing to ongoing service improvements

What We’re Looking For

  • Around 2-4 years’ experience in a Team Leader or Supervisor role - experience in horticulture, landscaping, or field services is a huge plus
  • Someone who enjoys being hands-on and close to the team, rather than purely strategic
  • Strong communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused mindset
  • Confidence in handling day-to-day people matters and customer interactions
  • Good organisation and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
  • A genuine interest in developing people and building team culture
  • Full Class 1 NZ driver’s licence with a clean record
