The Tires division operates 19 production sites and 16 development locations around the world. We are seeking a business-oriented and highly organized Local IT Manager to lead technology operations across five Continental entities in Australia, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore, based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the IT landscape across the region, ensuring the reliable delivery of IT services, and managing a small team of IT professionals. You will work closely with regional and global stakeholders to support business objectives, drive operational excellence, and coordinate IT initiatives across multiple countries and time zones.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with business acumen and leadership capabilities. You will play a key role in enhancing service quality, optimizing IT operations, and fostering innovation, while ensuring compliance with corporate standards and maintaining the highest levels of cybersecurity, governance, and regulatory compliance across all markets.

  • Manage and maintain IT infrastructure across five continental organizations, including servers, networks, workstations, and telecommunications systems, ensuring consistency and compliance across all regional locations
  • Lead, mentor, and support a small IT team while coordinating technical resources and support across Australia, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore
  • Oversee technical support operations and help desk functions across all regional markets to ensure timely resolution of user issues, accounting for multiple time zones
  • Develop and manage IT budgets across the regional organization, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources and vendor management across multiple countries
  • Analyze system performance across all regional locations and implement improvements to optimize efficiency and reliability
  • Plan, execute, and oversee IT projects aligned with organizational objectives across all five continental markets
  • Ensure compliance with IT security policies, data protection regulations, and industry standards specific to each regional market (Australia, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore)
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network and system issues across all regional locations, implementing preventive measures and coordinating with local IT teams
  • Provide strategic IT guidance to regional management and support business continuity planning across all markets
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventory and documentation across all regional organizations
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers across multiple countries, ensuring service level agreements are met regionally
  • Coordinate cross-regional IT initiatives and ensure knowledge sharing among teams across all five continental locations

Qualifications

**Required Skills and Experience:**

  • 5+ years of IT infrastructure and systems administration experience
  • Proven experience managing IT teams in small to mid-sized organizations
  • Strong knowledge of network administration, server management, and system security
  • Experience with IT service delivery and technical support operations
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
  • Demonstrated ability to manage IT budgets and vendor relationships
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with IT documentation and asset management

**Preferred Skills and Experience:**

  • ITIL certification or equivalent IT service management knowledge
  • Experience with cloud services and hybrid IT environments
  • Knowledge of IT compliance and security frameworks
  • Experience in small market or regional IT environments
  • Familiarity with IT ticketing and asset management systems
  • Background in IT business continuity and disaster recovery planning
