Job Description

Responsible for managing day-to-day activities of direct reports in Loan Operations and/or performs very complex, critical functions/tasks. Also acts as a resource for department regarding areas of expertise. Assists manager in coordinating and prioritizing day-to-day tasks/functions of a unit in Consumer Loan Closing and resolving procedural and technical issues. May involve providing support to teammates in multiple Loan Operations sites. Demonstrate leadership abilities to manage small projects and potential for grooming into Management Role.

What You’ll Do

  • All duties and responsibilities for Loan Closing Specialist III.
  • Ensures that own work, as well as that of teammates, is completed according to department procedures.
    • Assist Department Manager in monitoring, creating, or adjusting workflows to optimize efficiency and production quality, and ensure that incoming document requests move through the workflow pipelines per department procedures, and in accordance with Service Level Agreements.
    • Perform Quality Assurance reviews of teammates’ prepared packages as needed, based on thresholds determined by Department Manager. Report error trends to Manager.
  • Participate with Department Manager in the review and selection of new hires.
  • Assist Manager in assessing training needs and ensuring procedures manuals are kept up to date.
  • Provide new hire and ongoing training of teammates, as policies and procedures are updated.
  • Prepare periodic performance and quality metrics reports and provide to manager for review.
  • Approve timecards and vacation/leave requests for direct reports.
    • Perform annual performance evaluations, coach, mentor and perform disciplinary action as required for direct reports under the guidance and approval of Department Manager.
    • Provide exceptional customer service by responding to Business Partner, Account Officer and external customer inquiries, requests in a timely manner with a sense of urgency and positive attitude.
  • Balance competing priorities and make sound business decisions
    • Compliance Training Participate in all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.

Requirements For Success

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in Loan Processing role.

Required Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of Consumer Loan Closing, Document Preparation, and Document Review experience required, including knowledge of regulatory regulations.
  • Experience performing quality assurance reviews of various loan operation functions.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education experience can be substituted.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint

  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills without direct guidance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, as well as excellent written and verbal skills.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages employees and is responsible for the coaching, development, and performance management of those employees.

Working Environment and Physical Demands

This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, and printers.

Physical requirements: sedentary, climbing, standing, stooping, or typing

Position requires schedule flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

This position requires up to 5% travel.

Pay Range

USD $42,061.00 - USD $64,465.00 /Yr.
