The Loan Manager will play a central role in supporting Nordea Asset Management’s syndicated loan investment activities. Acting as a key liaison between internal teams and external parties, the role ensures efficient trade lifecycle management, accurate processes ie cash and settlement, and robust operational oversight.

This position will serve as a primary point of contact for loan-related operations, including trade settlement, reconciliations, and stakeholder coordination, while supporting the development of scalable processes as the business grows. Syndicated loans is a new investment area for Nordea Asset Management and as such your domain expertise, entrepreneurial drive and confidence to operate without a pre-written manual are essential.

Key responsibilities

Stakeholder Coordination & Communication:

• Central coordinator between:
  • Portfolio Managers
  • Trading
  • Operations
  • External parties (agents, brokers, custodians)
• Channel communication manager between the appropriate and relevant stakeholders:
  
  • Escalation contact for operational issues
• Agents & Market interaction:
  
  • Manage relevant communication with agent banks and associated requests & needs
  • Due Diligence follow up & information requests
  • Point of contact and liaison between external & internal stakeholders
• Trade Lifecycle Oversight:
  
  • • Act as a primary contact for loan related activities linked to settlement, reconciliation, CA, cash & others
  • • Monitor and manage settlement trades and all operational activities linked to the activity
  • • Coordinate external parties to resolve failed trades, breaks, discrepancies and issues
  • • Coordinate and be an escalation point both internally and externally as an entry contact for trade-related queries
• Data & Compliance support:
  
  • • Produce and maintain monthly data feeds to external sources for post-compliance and monitoring purposes
  • • Data integrity and validation
• Process Development & Controls:
  • Identification and mitigation of operational risks in the loan lifecycle
  • Continuous improvement of workflows, controls and overall processes
  • Contribute and develop an efficient operational process for syndicated loans

Who you are

• Previous exposure to the settlement value chain of syndicated loans (LMA) is preferred
• Proactive and ownership driven
• Strong communication with stakeholder management skills
• Structured and process-oriented mindset
• Comfortable with new processes
• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle;
• Strong understanding of Back-Office processes (Settlement, CA, Collateral, Cash, Reconciliation)
• Willingness to occasionally travel to Copenhagen
