Job Description

Processing - Loader/Driver
Department: North Plant Processing
Shift: 7P - 7A
Reports To: Processing Supervisor
Pay: $20.64

• Loader Operator is responsible for the overall operation of the front-end loader in the raw clay storage area and/or the operation of the raw clay crushing units prior to the dryer.
Essential Functions:
• Operates loader ensuring the proper clay quantity and quality is maintained in the clay shed.
• Understands internal customer needs and modifies process to meet expectations.
• Operates crushers.
• Completes pre-shift safety and general inspection of the loader, crusher, and work area.
• Informs relief &/or next shift personnel and team leader of any abnormal conditions, defects, changes made in machine, and/or job procedures or conditions and current operating conditions and requirements.
• Assures all safety rules, regulations and precautions are followed.
• Assists with daily routine maintenance of equipment.
• Keeps work areas clean and free of clutter.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Participates in improvement activities.
• Acquires further training and proficiency in other job functions on processing team.
• Provides back-up support for other positions on processing team.
• Provides back-up support to other departments as needed.

Experience:
• Must meet the assessment requirements.
• Possess experience in operating front end loader in a safe manner.
• Possess knowledge required to monitor performance of equipment.
• Must understand all safety requirements and other communications.
• Must satisfy the spirit of WE CARE.
• If needed, must be able to stand for the duration of the shift
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently
• Bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, walking, and climbing stairways and ladders frequently
• Good sight and hearing to avoid hazards
• Must be able to communicate by radio
• Must be able to function in the required role while wearing appropriate PPE including, but not limited to: seat belts, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, dust mask, protective coveralls, and other as may be required by a hot/cold, dusty, loud industrial environment.
• Must meet all physical requirements of the position.
Pay: $20.64 + $2.00 shift differential
