Job Description

You prioritise the safety of yourself and others at work, both physically and mentally.

You've been developing your skills and are ready to work on projects that matter to the people of NSW. You know that quality matters and that delivering results requires a great team.

In this role, you'll:

Take on a hands on position supporting the Ballast Recycling Business (BRC) Unit by operating front end loaders, loading trucks and trains, and carrying out minor maintenance repairs on loaders and trucks. You’ll perform machinery checks, use a variety of hand and power tools, and help maintain a clean, safe and efficient work environment.

Working as part of a small, dedicated team—with periods of minimal supervision—you’ll contribute to delivering projects on time, within budget and to a high standard.

The role includes attending work trains to support material movement, travelling to track sites for spoil processing, and undertaking mechanical inspections and minor repairs on plant equipment at BRC Chullora.

You’ll also benefit from ongoing training and development, building your capability in a competency based engineering environment.

This is a permanent full time role based at our Chullora Works Depot, where on site parking is available. Your standard hours will be Monday to Friday, with one RDO per month. Occasional weekend overtime may be required.

About you

You’re an experienced loader operator/fitter who takes pride in safe, efficient and high quality work. You’re confident operating front end loaders and other plant equipment, completing maintenance checks, and performing minor repairs. You’re comfortable with manual tasks and proficient with hand and power tools, maintaining strong housekeeping standards.

A reliable team player who can also work independently, you’re adaptable, willing to attend work trains and track sites, and committed to ongoing training and skill development. You understand WHS requirements in an industrial environment and recognise the importance of reducing environmental impact in all work activities.
