This position involves the safe and efficient operation of front-end loaders, excavators, and a water truck to assist with the production of aggregates. If you’re someone that has 1-2 years’ experience operating loaders/excavators, enjoys working during a busy season, and can work both independently and as a part of a team, this is the position for you. By doing so you’ll play an important role in reinventing the way our world is built. This position will require the incumbent to travel between the Eugene and Corvallis sites as needed for business demands.

Wage: $28/HR, with potential for overtime.

Location: Salem, OR and surrounding area.

Hours: Primarily work 10-12 hours per day 5 days per week, and up to 6 days per week per week as needed during the busy construction season. Must also have flexibility to work nights, and weekends as needed per business demands.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One to two years Front-end Wheel Loader experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to add, subtract, and multiply.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other company or state rules and regulations.
  • Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mechanical skills, basic knowledge of aggregate products a plus.
  • Experience with other kinds of heavy equipment a plus.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently by utilizing equipment within its designed parameters.
  • Responsible for safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading.
  • Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
  • Keep machines clean and maintained.
  • Keep time and material records.
  • Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit.
  • Travel to and from various locations.
  • Assist labor crew including shoveling of materials and daily plant operations.
  • Promptly communicate with paving crew on any flaws in material.
  • Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.
