Job Description

Job Summary

This position is responsible for the pulling/picking and loading of all outbound shipments and unloading/movement of all inbound deliveries to the facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operates a propane sit-down forklift.
  • Sort shipments for destination and group merchandise to be included with or fulfilled in an order.
  • Loading of finished materials for transport and unloading of raw materials.
  • Moving products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
  • Inspect the forklift to determine the need for repairs and to guarantee safety.
  • Verify piece counts on each pallet and compares to label.
  • Material handling of all products.
  • Follow shipping work orders.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Highly motivated with good sound work ethics.
  • Must demonstrate safe working practices and possess great attention to detail.
  • Team player able to follow instructions from management and peers.
  • Ability to learn and operate new equipment.
  • Ability to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and math skills with the capability to calculate square footage and batch size.

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year previous forklift experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Shipping and Receiving.

Working Conditions:

  • Fast paced manufacturing environment, loading dock, and driveways. Will be working in all weather conditions.
