WHITE MOUNTAIN APACHE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES, INC.

POSITION: LIVING WITH PURPOSE CAREER COACH

CLASSIFICATION CODE: EXEMPT FULL-TIME

DEPARTMENT: LIVING WITH PURPOSE

REPORTS TO: LIVING WITH PURPOSE PROGRAM MANAGER

STATEMENT OF JOB:Career Coach works closely with the other Career Coaches, Case Managers, Therapists and Program Manager in the Living With Purpose program to provide responsive,high-qualityservices and programsin the White Mountain Apache Tribe under the authority of Apache Behavioral Health Services.The Career Coach for the Living With Purposeprogramprovidesemployment support services oversight, guidance,transportation. Career Coaches are responsible for assisting participants with navigating program services, needs-related resources connections and entry into employment in targeted sectors and other related services to supportclientindependenceand retention. TheCareer Coach works closely with the outreach, partner development and services delivery teams to identify and match participants with opportunities that result in milestone achievements for program and its participants. Living With Purpose Career coaches’ functions may include providing individual and targeted assistance with professional development and preparation for employment, identifying and connecting participants with education, skills training, work-based training, and placement opportunities, for work projects, transports clientsand is responsible for the overallmanagementofLiving With Purpose career building.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide employmentsupport services to increase occupationskills development and workforceretention.
  2. Transport clients to appropriate services and work project sites as needed.
  3. Developing and implementing effective coaching strategies to help participants overcome employment-related challenges.
  4. Develops mock interviews for participants and coach’s participants on job interview etiquette
  5. Assist in the implementation ofscheduledLiving With Purpose employment support services evaluations.Conductsongoingassessment to identify skill or knowledge gaps and compliance requirements needing to be addressed.
  6. Provide individualized occupational support guidanceonsuch topics as time management, teamwork, goal setting, work ethicand professional behavior.
  7. Help participants write resumes and letter to prospective employers.
  8. Help participants with job search skills, contacting perspective employers and completing job applications.
  9. Help participants identify habits that prevent consistent employment.
  10. Coordinate with Living With Purpose Career Coaches, Case Managers, Therapists and Program Manager to identify and refer high risk individuals to appropriate support services and community resources.
  11. Work withLiving With PurposeCareer Coaches, Case Managers, Therapists and Program Managerto assist with the coordination, scheduling, outreach, and promotion of theLiving With Purposework projectofferings.
  12. Oversee work project sites tomonitor attendance,ensure a physicallyand emotionally safe work environment andtimelyproject completion.
  13. Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.Submit requests for order or purchaseofnecessary supplies or equipmentto Program Manager.
  14. Maintain accurate records, develop reports and documents as requested.
  15. Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  2. Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  3. Must have a valid driver’s license, Motor Vehicle Clearance, and reliable transportation.
  4. Ability to pass a level one fingerprint clearance card.
  5. Effective written and oral communication skills, as well as basic supervision skills.
  6. MS Office proficiency.
  7. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with a wide range of people, teams, managers, and supervisors.
  8. Must demonstrate basic critical thinking, problem-solving, de-escalation, organizational and time management skills.

Preferred

  1. At least 1 year experience working with Native Americans.
