Job Description

We are looking for experienced Livestock Hands / Pen Riders to join our Livestock team at our Wonga Plains Feedlot. This role is involves working within a team, assisting the supervisor with day-to-day duties and operations pertaining to custom fed livestock, including processing, cattle movements, and daily care of all livestock.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with animal health management.
• Pen maintenance.
• Processing intake of animals.
• Preparing and moving animals for exit.
• Mustering & shifting animals from/to pens and paddocks, with the assistance of horses and motorbikes.
• Repairing & maintaining fences and yards.
• Assisting with any other relevant tasks in the feedlot as directed by the manager.

Ideal Candidate:

• Past experience in a similar role.
• Works well with others and communicates effectively.
• Strong attention to detail when completing tasks.
• A strong ability to demonstrate a cooperative attitude and a positive approach to teamwork.
• Ability to handle animals with confidence and patience.
• Capability of riding and handling horses in a sensible manner.
• Capability of following protocol to assist management in ensuring records are correct and accurate.

What We Offer:

• Full-time, permanent position with a 10-day-on, 4-day off roster.
• Hourly rate role with a minimum 90-hour fortnight, with additional hours as required.
