At Viaplay Group, we entertain millions of people every day through our streaming services, radio networks, and TV channels. We believe in the power of content not just as a way of telling stories and touching lives, but also expanding worlds.
We’re looking for the best people to join us on our journey. Right now, we’re searching for a Live Technician Team Leader in our Stockholm office – are you ready to hit play on an exciting career change?
As part of the Swedish Sports department, you’ll play a key role across the live sports production chain - from planning to on‑air execution. Your work ensures smooth operations, stable staffing, and the technical readiness required to deliver thousands of live broadcasts every month. In this role, you act as the central link between our production control rooms and the wider organisation, both operationally and personnel‑wise. Understanding workflows and how different stakeholders interact will be essential to your success.
Together with a Personnel Planner, you will manage both short‑term and long‑term scheduling for a large group of freelance live technicians working in our control rooms. You and your teammate work daily in Viaplay’s internal databases and booking systems to guarantee that every broadcast is fully staffed and ready to go on air. You’ll also be the primary point of contact connected to control room coordination and other operational tasks. Strong planning, coordination, and communication skills will be central to your work.
A key part of your role is fostering a positive, engaged, and high‑performing culture within the live technician group. You help make sure that everyone has the knowledge and support they need to deliver world‑class live sports productions
Key responsibilities:
· Lead the live technician team in daily operations.
· Act as a strong link between multiple stakeholders across the organisation.
· Gather and manage information from multiple platforms to support daily operations.
· Ensure accurate staff booking.
· Secure correct staffing levels and competencies within the live technician team.
· Maintain clear and proactive communication with the live technicians and internal stakeholders.
· Collaborate with various departments to meet daily production goals.
· Follow up on tickets and issues related to live productions.
· Support a positive team culture and drive engagement.
· Work from our Stockholm office. While the role follows office hours, you need willingness to work some evenings and weekends regularly in line with sports schedules.
· Work on‑call duties according to a pre‑planned schedule (every other week).
We understand you may feel confident ticking certain boxes more than others and that’s why we always keep an open mind in our recruitment process. But, in order to thrive in this role, we do believe you’ll have at least some experience in the following:
· Experience from broadcasting/control room environments or live TV production coordination.
· Capable of managing live productions and coach others in the workflow.
· Work proactively and independently to anticipate needs and solve problems.
· A tech‑savvy mindset and comfortable with technical problem‑solving.
· Ability to create a positive, collaborative, and engaging team environment.
· Self‑driven and structured, with the ability to handle administrative tasks efficiently.
· Confident in building relationships and connecting with relevant stakeholders across the organisation.
· Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
It’s a bonus if you have:
· An interest in sports, big or small, as we think it would be positive for yourself working within our sports business area. If not, you must get to know what’s needed to understand our sports rights in order to handle our productions in the best way possible.
· Staff booking experience is a plus, but we’ll get you onboard with that.
A can-do attitude, a sense of humor and the ability to work humbly with others.
We’ve got you covered! 30days of paid vacation every year, an attractive pension and insurance scheme, and generous parental leave pay lift.
Your wellbeing matters. We provide you with various wellbeing initiatives including wellness allowance.
A safe space to grow and up-skill. Our learning culture puts you in the driver’s seat of your own development.
Entertainment is what we love, and entertainment is what we do So, unlimited access to Viaplay seems only fair for you to get to know the product – including series & viewing events, new release movie rentals, linear channels and more.
