WCHS has an exciting opportunity for a producer of a live, daily news-talk program on television. “ARC Appalachia” is hosted by a dynamic anchor covering current events and compelling topics and includes guests and interaction with viewers. The ideal candidate will follow the news closely in Southern West Virginia, Eastern Kentucky, Ohio, and be flexible while working quickly. Previous experience in a newsroom is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Working closely with show hosts and news managers
Originating segment and interview ideas
Booking guests and researching topics
Editing video for the program
Posting stories online and to social media
Live production and timing in the control room
Assisting with live newscasts as needed.
Required Skills and Experience:
The ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
You must have strong writing and news judgment skills
Experience with Avid and Adobe editing software a plus
A 4-year degree in Journalism or Mass Communications is preferred
Previous newsroom experience is preferred
