Join our Litigation Team as a Legal Support Specialist located in our Las Vegas office.

This role will be based in our Las Vegas, NV office, on an in-office basis. Regular in-office presence is required for day-to-day operations, as well as for team meetings, training opportunities, and relationship building. This role reports to the Business Director of the Las Vegas office.
The Legal Support Specialist provides administrative support to attorneys engaged in complex litigation matters. This role requires expertise in litigation procedures, document management, and case preparation from onset through post-trial. Extensive experience in litigation support and proficiency with relevant software are essential. This candidate should be flexible to work overtime as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Drafts and files legal documents such as briefs, complaints, motions, subpoenas, and summonses utilizing firm templates and attorney-provided information
Supports the discovery process by preparing for depositions, drafting, and responding to written discovery requests, and assisting with expert discovery preparation
Manages and conducts document reviews; prepares documentation regarding criteria changes; tracks and reports on review progress and results
Assists with trial preparation, including creating trial notebooks, identifying and organizing exhibits, coordinating witness schedules, maintaining trial calendars, and communicating effectively with opposing counsel and courtroom staff
Performs and oversees both simple and complex cite checking and proof reading of briefs and other legal documents
Conducts research and utilizes legal technology tools for e-discovery and case management
Coordinates multi-document filings in Federal, Circuit and State courts, including E-filings
Drafts general correspondence, memoranda, and reports from various sources, such as handwritten notes and dictation, ensuring final documents are accurate and clear; delivers correspondence and documentation promptly via appropriate methods
Manages scheduling and travel arrangements, including court appearances, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, client meetings, and conference calls; coordinates business itineraries; processes travel reimbursements and maintains attorneys’ calendars and due dates
Establishes and maintains organized filing systems and records in both physical and electronic formats
Enters attorneys’ billable time and submits to accounting by monthly deadlines
Supports administrative tasks such as printing, scanning, assembling exhibit binders, and preparing shipping labels and certified mailings
Sorts and reviews incoming mail and documents; answers phone calls and directs inquiries to appropriate personnel
Provides assistance with other departmental activities as needed and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Skills & Competencies
Comprehension of a variety of legal court documents, including complaints, answers, rulings, judgments, affidavits, motions, appeals, table of contents/authorities, subpoenas, court dockets, reports, memos, and correspondence
Ability to maintain high standards, use good judgment and seek out ways to contribute and anticipate needs
Strong attention to detail; established organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills, and ability to manage time effectively
Excellent interpersonal skills, advanced communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to collaborate well in a team
Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
High degree of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information
Education & Prior Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
1-3 years of litigation experience, preferably in commercial litigation
Strong knowledge of banking/finance, real estate, and M&A is a plus
Established understanding of litigation laws as they relate to individuals, partnerships, and corporations
Experience managing large-scale document reviews and productions
Proficiency with rules for court document filings
Technology
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn new software applications quickly
Demonstrates a basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI), including core capabilities, limitations, and importance of data privacy, accuracy, verification, and ethical considerations within a professional services environment
Familiarity with or willingness to learn AI platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar tools) and incorporate them responsibly into day-to-day workflows to enhance daily work tasks as appropriate and/or directed
Proactive approach to learning and adapting to emerging AI and related technologies and contributes to a culture of innovation
The expected pay range for this position is:
$34.85 - $42.05 per hour
Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
