Akerman is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant for its Wilmington office. This position will support attorneys handling complex business and commercial litigation in Delaware state and federal courts.
This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of three (3) days per week in the office.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, revise, proofread, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other litigation documents.
- Prepare and coordinate electronic filings in the Delaware Court of Chancery, state courts, and federal courts.
- Create tables of contents, tables of authorities, exhibits, and other complex document components.
- Maintain calendars and monitor litigation deadlines.
- Assist with trial and hearing preparation, including exhibits, witness materials, filings, and logistics.
- Enter attorney time, process expenses, and assist with billing.
- Support new matter openings, engagement letters, conflicts, and file maintenance.
- Provide proactive administrative support to attorneys and collaborate with paralegals and other firm professionals.
Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of litigation legal support experience in a law firm.
- Hands-on Delaware Court of Chancery filing experience required.
- Experience with state and federal electronic filing systems.
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and legal terminology.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
