Job Description

The Operator, Analog Press, is responsible for all aspects of operating analog printing equipment to production and quality standards, within budget and on time. Presses that are included under “Analog Press”: Flexo, Litho, Screen, Offset

SHIFT: 6:00pm - 6:00am, rotating every 5 weeks between Mon - Wed and Thurs - Sat (includes $1.00/hr shift differential)

  • Reads instructions for job ticket and sets the press up or directs set-up of press based on instructions.
  • Responsible for make-ready/set-up of screen press to ensure proper machine set-up, registration, ink viscosity, color, to include mixing colors, and print quality.
  • Responsible for optimum speed, registration, and print quality according to established standards.
  • Run, adjust, and troubleshoot production jobs on the screen press.
  • Responsible for performing preventative maintenance.
  • Maintains and provides production logs and reports, as necessary.
  • Accounts for labor and materials consumed through accurate data collection.
  • Assists management in the training of production personnel.
  • Assists management with ink inventory.
  • Assists in general cleaning up and keeping the work area neat and orderly.
  • Assists in the disposal of garbage and recycling bins in the screen press area.
  • Deals with customers and clients in a professional and polite manner as needed.
  • May need to perform prepress tasks such as screen prep, block out, imaging screens as needed.
  • Works overtime as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications of Position:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualifications of Position:

  • Previous experience on the same or functionally similar press.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of how to mix and produce correct color in printing.
  • Ability to read and understand oral/written instructions.
  • Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of press operations and functions.
  • Reliability through attendance, punctuality, and attention to workstation.
  • Positive safety attitude.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional climbing onto press.
  • Occasional reaching, bending, and stooping.
  • Frequent Standing for prolonged periods.
  • Travel: N/A
  • Chemicals: N/A
  • Ability to lift, push and pull: 50 pounds.
