Thermal Service Technology – Cooling Applications

Reports to: Services Technology Manager
Location: Madrid, Spain/Westerville – HQ, OH, US
Organization: Vertiv Group Corporation

As a Thermal Team Member, you will support the development and enhancement of maintenance services for Vertiv’s cooling applications, with a focus on high-computing environments and AI-driven data centers. You will collaborate with the Services Technology Manager and cross-functional teams to identify market trends, implement innovative service delivery models, and drive operational efficiency. Your work will directly contribute to Vertiv’s digital services portfolio, helping to extend service offerings and improve on-site operations and service activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in researching and integrating emerging technologies for cooling maintenance services, including predictive analytics and IoT solutions.
  • Support pilots and implementation of new solutions, working closely with regional service teams to validate proposals and gather feedback.
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts and external partners (vendors, startups, universities) to advance technology readiness.
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of strategic roadmaps for maintenance services, aligning with overall business objectives.
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to identify areas for service enhancement and promote customer loyalty.
  • Participate in innovation and idea systems, helping to manage and advance new concepts within the service organization.
  • Foster strong relationships with customers and internal teams, promoting a customer-centric approach.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory standards and best practices in maintenance services.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and drive operational excellence in service delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or related field) preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in thermal systems, cooling applications, or UPS maintenance (data center or telecom environments preferred).
  • Familiarity with innovation methodologies (design thinking, lean startup, agile).
  • Technical knowledge relevant to data centers, telecommunications, and power/cooling infrastructure.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creativity, adaptability, and a continuous learning mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, global team environment.
