About the team/ Offering

Our IT Outsourcing delivery teams support mission-critical infrastructure services for enterprise clients, helping ensure reliable, optimized, and secure operations across existing technology investments while enabling modernization. This role will support the administration and automation of Linux/UNIX operating systems across on-premise, private cloud, and public cloud environments, helping ensure availability, security, stability, and continuous evolution of hybrid infrastructure platforms.

About the Role

Essential Job Functions:

As a Linux Systems Technician, you will be responsible for administering and automating Linux/UNIX operating systems in on-premise and cloud environments, ensuring availability, security, and platform evolution. You will manage installation, maintenance, patching, vulnerability remediation, hardening, infrastructure renewals, migration activities, L2/L3 production support, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement while collaborating with security, technical, and infrastructure teams.

• Administer and maintain Linux/UNIX operating systems across on-premise, private cloud, and public cloud environments.
• Automate operating system tasks and support automation for build, deployment, and Day 2 operational processes.
• Install, configure, maintain, and support Red Hat Linux, AIX, and Solaris platforms.
• Manage operating system patching activities and maintain patching infrastructure such as Satellite.
• Identify, remediate, and support the resolution of operating system vulnerabilities in collaboration with CISO and technical teams.
• Resolve operating system hardening gaps and support the definition of hardening guidelines.
• Support operating system obsolescence remediation and infrastructure renewal initiatives.
• Participate in migration initiatives across on-premise, private cloud, and public cloud environments.
• Provide L2/L3 production support, including diagnosis, resolution, and coordination with other teams for complex incidents.
• Perform root cause analysis for relevant incidents and define corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience administering Linux/UNIX operating systems in production environments.
• Experience with Linux administration in public and private cloud environments.
• Experience with Red Hat Linux and knowledge of UNIX platforms such as AIX and Solaris.
• Experience with automation tools and scripting, including Ansible, Python, GitHub, and Rundeck.
• Experience supporting operating system patching, vulnerability remediation, and hardening activities.
• Strong diagnostic and incident resolution skills for L2/L3 production environments.
• Experience performing root cause analysis and defining corrective actions for relevant incidents.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies and tools.
• Experience with virtualization technologies.
• Intermediate to advanced English level.
• The service supports the UK, so schedule flexibility is required.

Other Qualifications:

• Knowledge of VMware is preferred.
• Knowledge of Terraform is preferred.
• Experience coordinating technical projects is preferred.
• Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure environments is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with security, infrastructure, and technical teams is preferred.
