
Position: Linux Systems Administrator and Network Engineer
Location: Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii Shift: Evening
Leidos Defense Sector is seeking a skilled Linux Systems Administrator and Network Engineer to support mission‑critical operations at Camp H.M. Smith, HI In this role, you will provide essential technical expertise to the Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC), ensuring secure, resilient, and high‑performance network and system operations in a dynamic Department of Defense environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide daily on‑site support to Government and DoD personnel, ensuring the security and reliability of the ISSE Guard and TMPC Network.
Perform maintenance, patching, STIG implementation, troubleshooting, and vulnerability management for mission‑critical Linux systems.
Deliver full‑spectrum network engineering support, including planning, design, configuration, and operational oversight.
Assess TMPC Network and LAN components, recommending emerging technologies to enhance mission capabilities.
Maintain awareness of evolving tactical capabilities and contribute to TMPC lifecycle development and modernization efforts.
Conduct periodic security testing, support accreditation/certification documentation, and implement system upgrades.
Perform LAN maintenance, including firewall administration, access control management, VPN configuration, and switch/router updates aligned with baseline standards.
Develop solutions to complex technical challenges and communicate best practices across Government and contractor teams.
Create, update, and refine security documentation; manage security activity schedules; and produce weekly/monthly LAN configuration reports.
Support Information Assurance and Certification activities, advising stakeholders to ensure compliance with security policies and requirements.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience, training, or certifications may substitute for a degree.
Hands‑on experience administering Linux servers and workstations in small, complex network environments.
Proficiency with Linux system administration and file transfer protocols.
Active IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+).
US Citizen; Currently possesses an Active Top Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
Familiarity with Event Viewer, VMware, Active Directory, Group Policy, ACAS, and endpoint secuirty.
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
Possess Advance Linux certification (e.g. Linux+)

Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
