Job Description

PHYSICAL OFFICE LOCATION: PEC Bertram Office - 365 Hwy 29 East, Bertram, TX 78605

$26.79 Starting Base Pay + KPI Bonuses + Competitive Benefits

This position is responsible for performing duties required in the operation, maintenance, construction and repair of transmission and distribution systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain familiarity with the operation and maintenance of the boom truck, digger and bucket truck and various pulling units
  • Assist in digging holes and setting poles
  • Assist experienced Linemen as needed
  • Study and complete training manual
  • Attend and successfully complete climbing school within six months of hire date
  • Participate in and successfully complete training as scheduled in order to progress to Apprentice 1B status
  • Demonstrate diligence in learning and adhering to safety regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle
  • Operate equipment and hydraulic tamp
  • Prepare materials for each project including cutouts, arrestors and transformers
  • Load and unload vehicles
  • Prepare vehicles for daily projects
  • Clean cover up materials, repair, clean and inspect tools on the vehicles
  • Assist with material stocking, pulling of stock for projects
  • Must not be afraid of heights
  • Ability to maintain the security of confidential information
  • Stay abreast of advances in technology
  • Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned

Minimum Qualifications - (Education, Experience)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Obtain a valid Texas Class A CDL within first six months of employment
  • Valid Driver’s License
