Lineworker – Transmission Lines | Permanent Roles | South Metro Depot in Forrestdale

As a Lineworker, you will become part of the Transmission Lines team, responsible for the maintenance, repair, and new construction of Western Power's transmission infrastructure. Working collaboratively in a team environment, you will ensure the networks integrity is upheld in a safe, reliable, and cost-effective manner. Your efforts will contribute to providing an uninterrupted supply to customers while adhering to all relevant guidelines and regulations.

This role is based at our state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway. Spanning across 120,000 square meters. With the latest infrastructure and technology, the depot empowers all employees to create that perfect work-life balance whilst operating in an inclusive and diverse workplace.

Remuneration & Allowances

This role is covered under the CEPU Agreement and offers an attractive hourly base rate starting from $57.96 per hour as of the 1st Sept 2026, dependent on qualifications and authorisations held. In addition, employees receive a site allowance of $2.50 per hour applied to all hours worked An additional allowance is payable to employees participating in the Availability Roster, in accordance with the Agreement. This package reflects our commitment to rewarding skills, experience, and flexibility.

Your Role in Action

  • Rectify faults promptly by isolating the network for repairs to maintain the integrity of the network and minimise customer impact. This will require you to be on a On Call roster.
  • Execute a scheduled maintenance program to ensure safe, reliable, and affordable operation of the network. This involves some work away from home.
  • Construct network infrastructure according to design specifications and construction standards. Deal with day-to-day technical issues that can arise, on site, relating to design and construction issues. This includes shift work.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Certificate III in ESI – Power System Distribution Overhead – essential
  • Or – New Zealand Electricity Supply (Distribution) Minimum Level 4
  • Valid WA ‘HR’ Class Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated industry experience in the construction and maintenance of the distribution electricity network
  • HOU and LOU Switching is highly regarded but not essential
  • Glove & Barrier is highly regarded but not essential
