Job Description

You are an experienced Aerial Lineperson with telecommunications expertise, responsible for the daily planning and execution of aerial construction activities. Working from personnel lifts and bucket trucks, you ensure that fiber optic cable is installed and secured in accordance with engineering specifications and industry standards.
Your ability to guide and support team members contributes to the successful achievement of construction goals while maintaining strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate bucket trucks and other types of personnel lifts
  • Install strand and associated hardware
  • Prepare spans for cable placement using cable rollers
  • Utilize standard telecommunications tools and equipment
  • Set up and operate single and double lashing tools
  • Set up and operate cable pulling equipment
  • Track and report daily production and material usage
  • Coordinate logistics and assign work to crew members
  • Train and mentor new team members on daily work practices and procedures

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of directly related experience as an Aerial Lineperson
  • Ability to climb utility poles using climbing spurs and experience operating aerial platforms
  • Combination of work experience and/or technical training in a related trade certification or education program
  • Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices as they apply to construction processes
  • Proficient in new build construction, pole transfers, strand installation, and cable lashing
  • Solid understanding of current construction practices and the ability to interpret construction documents
  • Proven ability to promote safe work practices in a high-pressure environment while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and identify solutions
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a safe and positive team environment; adheres to safety policies and PPE requirements
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract, appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including sitting, standing, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 45 lbs
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.

Compensation

$27.25 - $41.60 per hour

This is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location.

Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
