GENERAL SUMMARY
Works under the supervision of the Manager of Laundry Services. The Linen Tech's main job function is the collecting, transporting, and processing of soiled healthcare linen; in the processing and distributing of clean healthcare linen; by following organization and department policies and procedures; in order to provide appropriate, timely, and cost effective linen service to the department’s customers. Operates laundry machinery such as, tumblers, ironers, and folders in the processing of linen; transports linen by non-motorized carts and slings; performs customer service by receiving and processing linen orders; delivers clean linen and picks up soiled linen throughout all departments. Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
The following is a summary of the major job duties of this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Sanitizes linen exchange carts.
2. Sorts soiled linen according to wash classification (formula) and weight.
3. Unloads dryers and loads clean linen unto monorail; or into laundry cart.
4. Processes (folds and stacks) clean linen by operating ironer, folder, or hand folding.
5. Builds carts for distributing linen or stacks linen in appropriate clean linen storage area.
6. Distributes clean linen by exchange cart, or hamper bag to linen users.
7. Receives, marks, and stocks new linen from textile vendors.
8. Keeps work area clean and organized.
9. Performs routine preventative maintenance tasks.
10. Delivers clean linen and picks up soiled linen throughout all departments.
11. Performs the duties of Linen Helper as needed.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
