Position Summary

The Linen Distribution Supervisor is responsible for supporting the daily linen distribution operations within a healthcare facility to ensure an adequate supply of clean, safe, and high-quality linens for patient care and support departments. This position supports the Linen Manager by overseeing inventory management, staff supervision, customer service, operational performance, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the coaching and development of the linen distribution staff to ensure a high-performing and customer-focused team.
• Monitor inventory levels, utilization, linen loss, and fill rates to ensure efficient service and cost control.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company, OSHA, infection prevention, and healthcare standards.
• Conduct quality inspections and address service, quality, or inventory concerns promptly.
• Build strong relationships with hospital leadership and department stakeholders to ensure linen needs are consistently met.
• Track and maintain departmental records including productivity, attendance, inventory, and operational metrics.
• Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate employees while promoting accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service levels, and operational performance.
• Provide hands-on operational support during staffing shortages, increased census, or other business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree preferred.
• 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with inventory management, staff scheduling, and performance management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of healthcare, safety, and regulatory standards preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to push, pull, and move linen carts and supplies.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work in a healthcare environment and adhere to all safety and infection prevention protocols.
