DEPARTMENTAL SUMMARY Environmental Services (EVS) is responsible for maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the hospital. EVS cleans and disinfects all surfaces. We provide cleaning standards that support a safe environment for patients, families, visitors, and caregivers.

The Laundry and Linen Aide is responsible for receiving, delivering and maintain all PAR levels in all locations throughout the hospital. They are responsible for notifying management when linen falls below PAR levels. All other laundry that is used for daily cleaning or other areas are to be washed, folded and returned to proper locations for next day. This position does not directly manage any other Caregivers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

Receives clean linen orders and verifiys linen counts from delivery company.

Stocks clean linens on shelves, carts and deliver linens to appropriate hospital locations and ensure proper rotation of linen.

Maintains PAR levels of Linen and notifie management if items are needed.

Conduct inventory of linens.

Wash rags, mops, cubicle drapes, speciality linens, and other assigned linens.

Creates Soap free packs as directed.

Folds linens in an orderly and neat fashion.

Cleans and maintains linen work room and other linen storage areas in hospital to insure a neat and orderly environment

Delivers and stocks specialty linen items such as scrubs to designated units.

Performs special projects, as requested. Backs up MS housekeeping when short staff or busy.

Delivers customer service and/or patient care in a manner that promotes goodwill, is timely, efficient and accurate

Basic math skills in order to calculate concentrate and solution mixtures

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Continually (75% or more): Standing and walking, lifting/carrying/pushing or pulling 1-10 pounds, grasping/squeezing. Frequently (50%): Sitting, bending, stooping/kneeling/crouching, climbing stairs, lifting/carrying/pushing or pulling 11-25 pounds. Occasionally (25%): Climbing ladder/step-stool, reaching overhead, lifting/carrying/pushing or pulling 25-50 pounds, operation of a motor vehicle, using clear and audible speaking voice and ability to hear normal speech level. Rarely (10%): Keyboard operation. Never (0%): Ability to hear whispered speech level. Exposure to Elemental Factors - Occasionally (25%): Heat, cold, wet/slippery area, noise, dust, vibration, chemical solution, uneven surface. Blood-Borne Pathogen (BBP) Exposure Category - Risk for Exposure to BBP
