Job Description

Line Service personnel are responsible for supporting the daily operations of Hillsboro Aero Academy. While aircraft fueling is a primary responsibility, team members are expected to perform a wide variety of operational, cleaning, maintenance, and customer service duties as assigned. Daily assignments are determined by operational needs and may include aircraft support, facility upkeep, equipment maintenance, inventory management, or special projects.

Job duties:

  • Fuel aircraft safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures.
  • Tug, tow, position, and secure aircraft.
  • Clean aircraft interiors and exteriors to company standards.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional facilities, including hangars, offices, bathrooms, break rooms, classrooms, and ramp areas.
  • Perform general facility upkeep, organization, landscaping, and improvement projects.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, and basic inspections of company vehicles and ground support equipment.
  • Assist with inventory management, stocking, receiving deliveries, and operational support.
  • Participate in the Safety Management System (SMS) by identifying hazards and promoting a safe work environment.
  • Work safely outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, instructors, staff, and visitors.
  • Demonstrate initiative by identifying and addressing cleaning, organization, maintenance, and operational needs throughout the campus.
  • Perform other duties, facility projects, cleaning tasks, and operational assignments as directed by management.

Work Expectations

This position requires flexibility, initiative, and a team-first attitude. Duties are assigned based on operational needs, and employees should expect that some shifts may be dedicated primarily to facility cleaning, organization, maintenance, equipment upkeep, inventory management, or special projects rather than aircraft fueling.

All Line Service personnel are expected to contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and professional working environment. Successful employees are dependable, self-driven, hardworking, detail-oriented, and willing to take ownership of their work while helping improve the overall appearance and operation of the campus.

Interpersonal Contacts

Continuous. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are required.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and provide proof of a valid driver's license from the United States or another country.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment as required.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to identify tasks and remain productive with limited supervision.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Line Service, aviation, customer service, or related experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience operating vehicles with a manual transmission preferred.
  • Basic vehicle or equipment maintenance experience preferred.

Working Conditions

Line Service personnel work on an active aircraft ramp, inside hangars, and throughout Hillsboro Aero Academy facilities. This position requires working in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind. Safety equipment may be required depending on assigned duties.
