Te Kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
We’re looking for a qualified Line Mechanic to join our Energy & Utilities team based in Welbourne, New Plymouth.

Deliver high-quality construction, maintenance and fault response work across network equipment and installations. This is a hands-on, technical position where your work directly supports the reliability of critical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Installing, maintaining and repairing distribution network assets
  • Maintaining SMEI, regulatory and work practices compliance
  • Identification and minimisation of risks, ensuring safe delivery at all times
  • Responding to network faults as required
  • Coaching and mentoring of developing crew

This is a Full-time, permanent role, offering 40 hours per week, with the addition of penalty rates for overtime and allowances for lates, aways and when on-call.

Mōu koe | About You
You’re a skilled Line Mechanic with strong technical capability and a commitment to safety, quality and teamwork. With experience in the construction, maintenance, and fault-finding of distribution network assets, you'll be ready to hit the ground running.

You’ll bring:

  • Line Mechanic registration and current EWRB practising licence or ability to obtain
  • NZQA Electricity Supply Level 4 qualification or ability to obtain
  • Full Class 1 driver’s licence
  • Strong knowledge of SMEI and low-voltage safe work practices
  • Clear written and verbal communication (WMS, JSEAs)
  • Energy & commitment to maintain our solid team culture
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety
  • G&B qualification & Heavy Trade licence desirable


Flexibility to work on an on-call faults roster and travel on occasion
