Six Pints Collective is currently seeking Line Cooks to join our team at Granville Island Brewing in Vancouver, BC Line Cooks are a vital part of our taproom team. The taproom showcases our beer selection by offering a finely tuned menu tailored to complement our year-round, seasonal, and small batch brews. The Line Cooks serve as a Customer Service Ambassador by ensuring that the food we serve always meets or exceeds our standards of excellence, especially non-peak times when the amount of food prepared is critical.

Reporting to the Taproom Manager, it is expected that all kitchen staff take responsibility for setting the expectation for other team members to work as a team to maximize our productivity. Line Cooks must meet and exceed our standards at all times, whether it is cleanliness, organization, or food quality. Speed and accuracy are vital skills for members of our kitchen team.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting team members
  • Ensure timeliness and consistency in the preparation of all food items and events menus according to recipes and standards
  • Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions in daily shift briefings
  • Continually strive to improve food preparation and presentations
  • Maintain proper rotation of product in all coolers to minimize wastage/spoilage
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
  • Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage

Physical Aspects of the Role

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps​

POSITION PARTICULARS:

  • 30-40 hours per week.
  • Evenings and weekends will be required so must have a flexible schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous kitchen/line cook experience necessary
  • Food Safe Certification required
  • Positive attitude and pleasant with people
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Experience working in a team and able to work fast paced environment
  • Proven ability to follow directions
  • A self-sufficient and self-motivating work ethic
  • Honest and reliable
  • The ability to multi-task
