Job Description

The Line Cook works efficiently, safely, and quickly producing a high quality product and ensuring guest satisfaction and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

  • Regular and predictable attendance is expected and required. All Cleveland Metroparks employees must be prepared to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as required.
  • Prepares quality food according to standardized recipes.
  • Maintains a clean, safe facility that fall in line with local Health Department Regulations.
  • Adheres to portions and preparation guidelines for cost effectiveness.
  • Reviews and adheres to schedule.
  • Takes care of guests needs and food orders/specifications with immediacy and accuracy.
  • Ensures compliance with Health Department codes and regulations.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience cooking in a restaurant environment preferred.
  • Must complete Serve-Safe program after hire.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a scratch kitchen.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, and customer service-related skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including employees and the general public.
  • Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and persuasively using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation with ability to communicate one-on-one or in group settings.
  • Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to perform with considerable independence and initiative.
