North End Market is a vibrant new café and market concept located inside the Holiday Inn & Suites Virginia Beach – North Beach, offering guests and visitors convenient, high-quality food and beverage options.

Operated by the Harrison Group, a third-generation family hospitality company founded in Ocean City, Maryland in 1951, North End Market reflects our commitment to exceptional guest experiences and hospitality. Featuring specialty espresso drinks, breakfast pastries, gourmet sandwiches, fresh grab-and-go items, ice cream, milkshakes, fruit bowls, and beach-ready favorites, North End Market is designed to serve both hotel guests and Virginia Beach visitors looking for quality food on the go. We are looking for an efficient and positive line cooktojoinour team. You willbe responsible formaintainingan organized and cleanworkstation, and able to provideconsistent qualityon all ordersin a timely manner.

Core Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation:Wash, chop, slice, and prep ingredients prior to and during cafe service.
  • Recipe Execution:Cook, assemble, andplatecafe items (sandwiches, salads, baked goods, and hot plates) efficiently and exactly to cafe specifications.
  • Station Management:Set up, stock, and break down your assigned kitchen station, ensuring all equipment is clean and ready for service.
  • Inventory & Stocking:Monitor ingredient levels, rotate stock using FIFO methods, and communicate supply needs tothe manager.
  • Sanitation & Safety:Adhere strictly to local health codes,maintaina sanitary work area, and manage proper food storage and temperature logs.
  • Teamwork:Communicate clearly with front-of-house and back-of-house staff to ensure smooth,timelyservice for cafe patrons.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience:1+ years of kitchen or food service experience preferred.
  • Speed & Multitasking:Ability to work quickly under pressure in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing food quality.
  • Adaptability:Flexibility toassistwith dishes, prep, or expo depending on the cafe's daily needs.
  • Physical Requirements:Ability to stand for long shifts (8+ hours) and lift/carry up to50 pounds.
