Job Description

At the present time, a vacancy for a Limited English Proficient (LEP) Specialist position exists within the Division of Career, Technical and Customized Education of the Chester County Intermediate Unit at the Pennock's Bridge Technical College High School in West Grove, PA.

Qualifications:

  • Must be fluent in both Spanish and English.
  • Bilingual tutorial experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Postsecondary education/experience - Multicultural Educational preferred.

Responsibilities:

The (L.E.P.) specialist works primarily with students who are developing their English language proficiency and may require small group or one-on-one support. This includes assisting other vocational academic teachers and providing tutorial assistance to students who need support with English language development. The specialist is expected to model responsibility, accountability, respect for self and others, safety and welfare and good citizenship.


2026-2027 Salary:
$28.24 to $35.29 hourly
PRJ, Band 12, Non-exempt

Schedule:
Monday through Friday; 7.5 hours per day
182 days per year

About Chester County Intermediate Unit

Created in 1971 by the Pennsylvania General Assembly, the Chester County Intermediate Unit is a regional educational service agency that exists to provide quality, cost-effective services to the community and its residents. The Chester County Intermediate Unit administers instructional, enrichment and administrative programs and services to Chester County’s 12 public school districts, and to over 45 private and parochial schools in the county. These programs include instructional, remedial and enrichment services for regular and special education students and career and technical education programs for secondary and post-secondary students. The CCIU provides direct instruction to over 5,000 students a year and support services to an additional 30,000 students a year.

In addition, the IU supports teachers, school administrators, school directors and school districts through a multitude of services, including, but not limited to: business and administrative services, communications services, technology services and human resources. The diversity of CCIU programs enables IU staff to interact with school district personnel at all levels and to maintain a cohesive educational network throughout Chester County.
