About the opportunity

As Australia’s newest uranium producer, we’re growing and looking for an experienced Light Vehicle Fitter to join our team at the Honeymoon mine site in South Australia fora 12 month maximum term contract.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for timely and quality preventative maintenance, fault finding and repairs to light vehicles and machinery on site.

Working on a small site, you’ll need excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with your team and others, across the business.

The role will be FIFO from the Adelaide charter terminal or Port Augusta airport, direct to site on an 8:6 roster. We will also consider DIDO from Broken Hill.

In terms of specific responsibilities, you will:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance on light vehicles and heavy machinery.
  • Complete scheduled work and provide updates to Maintenance Planners.
  • Develop Safe Work Instructions (SWIs)
  • Review critical spares & assist planners in the implementation of BOM’s in Pronto.
  • Contact and follow up with suppliers to acquire materials and spare parts.
  • Maintain vehicle maintenance logs.
  • Assist the broader mechanical team as required.

About You

What you’ll need:

  • Experience in a similar role ideally in a FIFO mining environment.
  • A valid Australian driver’s license, with the ability to drive a manual vehicle.
  • An Australian Light Vehicle or Mechanical Trade qualification.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a light/heavy vehicle or diesel mobile fitter, preferably within the mining industry.
  • Experience in Maintenance Management Systems (MMS)
  • Knowledge of Work Health and Safety requirements in a mining environment.
  • A strong focus on and commitment to, working safely.
  • Be fit and able to work in a remote environment in a variety of conditions
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical & national police clearance

While not essential, the following tickets will be highly regarded:

  • Elevated Work Platform (EWP) and Working at Heights
  • Confined Space
  • Telehandler
