About the Role

We are currently seeking a Lifting Equipment Inspector to support our growing operations in Darwin. If you're a proactive, can work independently, hands-on professional who thrives on delivering exceptional service and is eager to expand your skill set, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and periodic inspections of lifting equipment including slings, shackles, hooks, and lifting accessories
• Inspect chain slings, wire rope slings, and synthetic slings for defects, wear, or damage
• Examine lifting components for corrosion, deformation, fatigue, and non-compliance
• Remove defective or non-compliant equipment from service in line with procedures
• Tag and register lifting equipment in accordance with relevant standards
• Ensure all inspections comply with Australian Standards and site requirements
• Complete inspection reports, checklists, and certification documentation
• Maintain accurate inspection records and asset registers
• Provide recommendations for repair, replacement, or disposal of equipment
• Liaise with site personnel, riggers, and supervisors on inspection outcomes
• Support audits, compliance checks, and client requirements
• Follow all WHS policies and conduct risk assessments prior to inspections
• Promote safe handling and correct use of lifting equipment

Selection Criteria

• Previous experience working with lifting equipment or rigging gear (highly regarded)
• Previous experience in mining, construction, or heavy industry (highly regarded)
• Strong understanding of lifting equipment inspection requirements
• Ability to identify defects and assess equipment condition
• High attention to detail
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in remote/site environments
• Organisational and time management skills
• Unrestricted Australian working rights
