Overview

The Highlands At Harbor Springs is seeking a Lift Operations Lead, you will be an essential member of the mountain operations team. We’re looking for leaders who can assist in organizing the daily lift operation teams. They will report to the lift operations supervisor. The successful candidates will be someone that has strong attention to guest service, attention to safety, and will assist with training at the lift. The lift leads will focus on their lift zones in a fast-paced environment while communicating effectively, maintaining a professional demeanor and driving the team success.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions: The Lift Operations Lead’s Jobs are listed but not limited to.

  • Overseeing the assigned lift zone for the day. Everything from lift logs being completed to ramp quality throughout the day.  
  • Assisting lift operators in the daily start up ski lifts, including loading and unloading areas and daily safety checks. 
  • Assist in training new team members.  
  • Helping to coordinate that each lift is adequately staffed before opening each day, and helping to ensure lifts are shut down properly and lift operations staff is safely off the hill at the end of the day.  
  • Assist in snow removal and general surface/ramp maintenance around the top and bottom of each lift daily. 
  • Promote a safe work environment, through the proper use and storage of equipment and tools provided at each lift station daily.  
  • Having a general knowledge of the work stations at each of the lifts at Boyne Highlands.  
  • Giving breaks and lunches to Lift Operators, as well as filling in when staff shortages occur. 
  • Promote an enjoyable environment for team members and guests of The Highlands, as well as positive interactions between both. 
  • Relay information between management and team members. 
  • Assist with daily and continued training. 
  • Ability to adapt changing work environments. 

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Able to work outside on your feet in winter conditions.
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds
  • Must be proficient skier or snowboarder.
