Job Title: LIFT MAINTENANCE APPRENTICE (LEVEL 1 FTYR)

Department: Mountain Operations

Rate of Pay: $25.00/Hr

Shift: Full time, Day shifts 6 am-4 pm, Night shifts 4 pm-10 pm

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly FTYR

SUMMARY: Lift Maintenance level I candidate will be someone who is mechanically minded. Candidate will enjoy working outdoors and in extreme conditions. Candidate must be motivated and interested in working hard. Candidate will be able to perform all job duties and responsibilities as outlined below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Lift Maintenance Team in seasonal maintenance of all lifts.
  • Exhibit a basic knowledge of lift mechanics and operations.
  • Responsible for assisting with records keeping and general cleanup.
  • Assist in mountain slope maintenance.
  • Motivated to learn and gain greater understanding of lift mechanics and operations.
  • Consistently exhibit awareness and focus on personal and co-worker safety at all times.
  • Possess general understanding of ANSI codes for lift operations.
  • Provide accurate up to date record keeping of completed maintenance.
  • Locate, properly use, maintain and store all Lift Department tools and machinery.
  • Assist with shop clean up.
  • Read and interpret manuals and documents.
  • Work with equipment such as chainsaws, skill saws, power tools, and other heavy machinery.
  • Utilize appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) for task.
  • Must be familiar with repair and rebuild of lift components to include; sheaves, grips, etc.
  • Operate the drive station during line work.
  • Perform line work from the work cart.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Drivers' License in good standing as determined by Sundance's Insurance Company guidelines.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years driving experience
  • Must be a hard worker, and able to work on steep slopes.
  • Three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Must pass off Snowmobile Operation training program through Mountain Manager.
  • Previous experience with lift operations.
  • Previous experience working with public.
  • Use of a 2-way radio is required.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move between 50 and 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job.
  • Must be 19 years of age or older

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level working around snow guns is usually loud.
