✨ Positions Available Across Various Locations ✨

Residential Youth Support / Sleepovers / Active Overnight:

Join a purpose-driven team supporting children and young people in out-of-home care and Child Safety placements. You’ll help create stable, nurturing, and trauma-informed environments where young people can build confidence, resilience, and independence.

Community-Based Youth Support:

Through our community support programs, we help young people engage safely with education, community services, cultural connections, employment pathways, and positive social supports.

We work closely with young people to:

• Build life skills, confidence, and independence


• Navigate education, employment, housing, and support services

• Develop healthy routines and social connections

• Access community programs, appointments, and recreational activities

• Strengthen emotional wellbeing and positive coping strategies

What You’ll Do:

• Work as part of a dynamic care team delivering both youth support and disability support services to children and young people within DCC and Child Safety care settings.

• Provide compassionate, trauma-informed care tailored to each young person’s individual needs, development, and wellbeing.

• Support young people who may present with additional and complex support needs, including ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), language disorders, and reactive attachment disorder.

• Support children and young people in daily living activities and routines.

• Assist with personal care needs including meal preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, medication administration, and accurate medication data recording.

• Foster safe, supportive, and empowering relationships while promoting emotional wellbeing and positive behavioral support.

• Support life skill development including budgeting, cooking, personal care, emotional regulation, and socialisation.

• Assist with transport to school, appointments, family contact, community participation, and recreational activities.

• Encourage engagement in education, healthy routines, cultural connections, and community-based programs.

• Utilise a variety of communication supports and tools including audio devices, pictorial communication aids, and PODD (Pragmatic Organisation Dynamic Display) communication books.

• Work collaboratively with qualified therapists and multidisciplinary teams to provide consistent, high-quality, person-centred support.

• Maintain accurate case notes, medication records, and professional communication in line with Child Safety and organisational requirements.

Full training will be provided by qualified therapists to ensure every member of the care team is equipped to deliver safe, effective, and individualised support tailored to the unique needs of each young person.

Required:

• Blue Card (Working with Children Check)

• NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)

• Current Driver’s Licence

• First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

• Ability to complete mandatory Child Safety and Youth Support training

Preferred (but not essential):

• Cert IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Community Services, Youth Work, or equivalent.

• Experience working with Child Safety participants or young people with complex behaviours.

• Experience in trauma-informed care, mental health, or disability support.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
