Please note permanent shifts are: Saturday, Sundays and Thursdays 9am to 5pm

Our Personal Carer & Engagement Worker (PCEWs) or Lifestyle Assistants are highly interactive supporting our elderly residents, their families and colleagues 7 days a week across AM, PM and Nightshifts. This role based at our Caravonica Waters care home in Cairns ( Residential Aged Care Facilities - Our Locations | Infinite Care) will see you working closely with the nursing and resident engagement teams when performing your resident-centric care duties in a timely and compassionate manner surrounded by highly skilled and supportive senior carers and managers. The attached position description outlines duties and accountabilities for this role - Lifestyle is what is this role is commonly called in the Aged Care sector.

About You

At Infinite Care we hire for heart, so our best people are highly empathic, instil a strong work ethic and passionate about making a difference to the elderly. Ideally, you have worked in the Aged Care sector for at least 1 year and the ability to “think on your feet”, communicate effectively, build rapport, and maintain professional relationships with residents and co-workers alike. In addition, you will also

  • Current First Aid and CPR certification is essential
  • Understanding of person-centred care principles and their application in lifestyle programs with basic knowledge of the emotional, social, and physical needs of older adults. 
  • Qualifications across Certificate III Individual Support or Leisure and Lifestyle is applicable for this role is desirable.
  • Hold (*or willingness to obtain) the NDIS Workers Screening Clearance as this is essential to work in the Aged Care sector
  • Excellent safety awareness to avoid our residents tripping, falling or hurting themselves - you need to be their extra eyes and ears!
  • Very positive teamwork attitude, a trusted co-worker, excellent time management (we are a shift driven workplace including handovers) and always follow strict safety procedures to maintain a high standard of workplace safety.
  • A passion for choosing a career where you can make a difference and willingness to help our company deliver quality of care services every day!
  • Display a positive, fun and confident personality to help our residents (*who sometime can be very shy) to get involved in lifestyle and group activities.

Infinite Care accepts the Ausmed Passport, which is a free, digital certificate for the Australian aged care workforce that recognises their completion of eight, sector-wide, core mandatory training topics.

Our care roles are busy! Alot of bending, lifting, pushing and squatting to perform your duties safely. All candidates will be required to complete an online medical assessment to maintain personal and workplace safety standards.
