We’re currently looking for experienced Lifestyle Assistants at our Karingal site located in Devonport and have casual opportunities available! These are flexible roles spanning morning, afternoon, and night shifts across weekdays and weekends, ideal if you’re looking for variety and the chance to build real connections with the people in your care.

THE ROLE

Your role focuses on developing and delivering personalized social and lifestyle support programs for residents, promoting overall well-being aligned with their unique needs, goals, and preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow and give feedback on the lifestyle program.
  • Record consumer progress accurately.
  • Stick to a set schedule.
  • Collaborate with facility staff for optimal resident-centred care.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements.
  • Foster relationships with families and agencies to enhance resident life.
  • Report any risks in the workplace or for residents.
  • Contribute to developing the lifestyle program and overall facility operation as appropriate.

ABOUT YOU

You’re reliable, compassionate, and bring genuine energy to every shift!

• Required qualifications in health-related field (e.g., Leisure and Health, Diversional Therapy, Activity Worker).

• Certificate III or higher in Aged Care.

• Additional certification in alternative therapies (e.g., Massage, aromatherapy, etc.) is a plus!

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
