Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Report to the program AVP, and/or covering leadership; attend weekly clinical meeting to report on cases, staff development, and personal development and coaching.
  • Manage and oversee the assigned team model/program by providing guidance and direct supervision for the implementation of services and ensure team’s integration.
  • Model adequate standard of care for tutors and coaches by conducting best practice with clients through adherence and regulatory standards from stakeholders.
  • Develop and Implement outreach and onboarding plan in partnership with ACS to help the engaged of newly entering and current college students; including support with summer-bridge program that helps new program participants who are attending college for the first time better acclimate to and have the skills to succeed in a college environment.
  • Conduct weekly group supervision for assigned team to assure adherence to model/program principles and associated analytic process. Assure that clinicians achieve engagement with all key participants.
  • Applies and is adherent to NYF Coaching and Mentoring Model for the program as well as the performance evaluation process.
  • Responsible to ensure the team develop a success plan for each student that takes into account the student’s interests, strengths, and areas of growth, and sets a clear path toward degree completion within a reasonable amount of time; regularly review and update this plan regularly as needed.
  • Review of session notes to facilitate prompt feedback and support around excellence in services, and for staff development opportunities/learning.
  • Assure appropriate and timely documentation of services in all databases to allow for peer and supervisory input, and to meet all reporting and communication needs of funding and referral sources.
  • Assure excellent quality of services.

Qualifications

With prior work experience in Education and/or Social Work setting, bachelor's degree in social work, Mental health Counseling or related subject area (and other majors related to Education and Human Services)

Master’s degree - Preferred

Other Requirements

  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills
  • The ability and willingness to work with stakeholders and AVP to ensure program practice/standard.
  • Prior experience working with at-risk youth or youth with special need strong preferred.

Preferred Experience:

  • 1- 2 years of relevant experience in evidence-based services, preventive settings, Academic/mentoring/coaching, and/or school based mental health services
  • 2-3 years of accumulated experience (internships through post-graduate) providing direct services to youth and their families in their homes and/or communities
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Email, and Data entry systems (e.g. Connections, Electronic Health Record).

Crisis Intervention

A thorough understanding of existing federal and state ethical guidelines and laws concerning situation that may occur in crisis treatment. He or she must also be familiar with the organizational and procedural guidelines (i.e. agency mission, culture, administrative structure) of relevant collateral agencies (i.e. juvenile or family court, probate court, social services agencies).

Education Required

Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S. accredited educational institution or Credential Evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution
