Job Description

Ensure guest safety and maintain the cleanliness and organization of all supplies, equipment and work areas. Assist all guests at the pool facility with requests courteously and efficiently, according to standards.

Responsibilities

  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
  • Remain in stationary position for 30 minutes/hours throughout work shift.
  • Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.
  • Additional constant physical activities include but are not limited to: sitting, standing, crouching, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of:
    • Daily house count, VIPs in-house, arrivals/departures.
    • Scheduled group activities and locations within hotel.
    • All hotel facilities and services.
    • Hours of operation of each outlet.
    • All equipment and services available for guests at the Pool facility.
    • All safety and sanitation regulations for Pool facility.
  • Obtain clean towels; fold and stack towels.
  • Open, set up and organize Pool Deck.
  • Check supply and equipment levels; report shortages to MOD.
  • Clean/prepare the slide area free of debris and trash.
  • Remove trash and debris from all work areas and Pool facility.
  • Display lotions, other complimentary guest items.
  • Set up beverage station with specified beverages and supplies.
  • Check pool restrooms, showers and BOH areas throughout the shift for supply levels, cleanliness and working order; rectify any deficiencies and clean sections.
  • Greet guests; acknowledge guests.
  • Monitor all guest activity in assigned work area; be alert to any sign of trouble. Ensure safety of guests and enforcement of pool rules precautions according to department standards.
  • Utilize first aid and lifesaving procedures when situations demand such.
  • Distribute and retrieve towels for guests. Collect dirty towels left on chairs and in pool areas.
  • Report any unauthorized persons in the Pool areas to the MOD.
  • Complete closing duties:
    • Breakdown cabanas.
    • Set up pool closed sign and turn off slide.
    • Return all equipment and supplies to proper areas.
    • Restock items for next shift.
    • Secure storage areas.
  • Return all dirty towels to BOH when necessary.
  • Perform CPR to guests in case of an emergency

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with activities offerings as needed.
  • Follow maintenance program and cleaning schedule.

Qualifications

  • Compute accurate mathematical calculations.
  • Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally.
  • Provide legible communication and directions.
  • Ability to:
    • Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
    • Prioritize and organize.
    • Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgement.
    • Follow directions thoroughly.
    • Understand guest’s service needs.
    • Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
    • Work with minimal supervision.
    • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.

Experience, Education, & Licensure:

  • Valid Los Angeles County Lifeguard certification required
  • Valid Water Safety Certification required
  • Valid First Aid certification & CPR certification required
  • Valid CA State Food Handlers Card certification required
  • High school graduate.

Compensation

Base Pay Start Rate: $21.96/Hr.
